June 2022 Dividend Income: Damn It, He's Learning As He Writes

The first half of the year is done, and it has been a doozy.  Near the end of 2021, I saw memes talking about how "2022" sounds like "2020 II" with subsequent freaking out.  I dismissed them at first, but I've gotta hand it to 'em, they turned out to be right.  Still, we press on; and what better way is there to kick off the second half of the year than by talking about something positive?  With the start of the new month, it is customary to review the dividends that had come in the month prior. For most investors, the quarter-end is the heavy hitter, though that hasn't usually been the case for me. Will this be the month that it proves to be the case?  Let's find out by diving right in.

Invesco High Dividend Low Volatility ETF (SPHD): $0.09

Intel (INTC): $0.18

SJW Group (SJW): $0.57

J.M. Smucker (SJM): $0.19

Kroger (KR): $1.37

Nasdaq 100 Covered Call ETF (QYLD): $0.13

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ): $0.54

AGNC: $1.11

Microsoft $0.03

Exxon Mobil (XOM): $2.42

Lumen Technologies (LUMN): $1.41

Pfizer (PFE): $1.24

Walgreen’s Boots Alliance (WBA): $1.02

Chevron (CVX): $0.34

Emerson (EMR): $0.18

IBM: $0.15

Target (TGT): $0.26

Yum: $0.16

3M (MMM): $0.47

GlobalXSuperdividend (SDIV): $0.14

Realty Income (O): $1.29

Wendy’s (WEN): $1.19

iShares Core Dividend Growth ETF (DGRO): $0.16

ConEd (ED): $0.54

NextEra Energy (NEE): $0.01

Stag Industrial (STAG): $0.08

Main Street Capital (MAIN): $0.09

Unilever (UL): $0.11

VF Corp (VFC): $1.18

McDonald’s (MCD): $0.33

Flowers Foods (FLO): $1.45

Kraft Heinz (KHC): $1.69

Lockheed (LMT): $0.35

Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF (VYM): $1.78

Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG): $0.43

Schwab US Dividend Equity Fund (SCHD): $0.34

Vanguard Utilities ETF (VPU): $0.52

Vanguard US REIT Fund (VNQ): $0.59

Vanguard S&P 500 Growth Fund (VOOG): $0.06

Vanguard Total Market ETF (VTI): $0.44

Nasdaq Covered Call ETF (QYLD): $0.19

Wisdom Tree (DON): $0.06

That brings the sub-total to $24.88.  This is, of course, just the taxable numbers.  The 401K also threw in a bit.

American EuroPacific Growth Fund   $2.12

Baird Aggregate Bond Fund: $1.62

That brings that sub-total to $3.74

Grand total comes to $28.62.  That is up $5.97 from last quarter, down from $1.62 from last year, and nowhere close to the mid-quarter month.

Interest clocked in at $4.93

In addition to the Robinhood buys (which you can read about here, here, here, here, and here) I made single share buys of Paramount Global (PARA), AGNC, Vanguard's High Dividend Yield ETF (VYM), and Vanguard's S&P 500 ETF (VOO).  Also nabbed three shares each of Pepsi (PEP) and Procter and Gamble (PG). It's more substantial than usual, especially considering I'm supposed to be hunkering, but there was a bit of a shake-up in some things that is going to make the next couple of months very interesting.  I'll go into more detail next month, where you'll really see the impact.

But wait! I wasn't done yet.  I also set up accounts with Current and Fundrise. One gives me more real estate exposure while the other gives me an FDIC insured stash that brings in a whopping 4% in interest.  Sadly, the daily payouts don't kick in until you've built up a higher balance.  It's understandable, I guess, but still disappointing.  It'll get there.  In the meantime, 4% is still 4%.

Man, June was an active month.  Honestly, I didn't even realize it until I had everything written out.  That's awesome, though. That's how you bring the end of the first half of the year to a close.  Hopefully that momentum carries over into the second half.  Seems like this year can use all the positive momentum it can get.
